Here is a cool looking. later 1950s Bulova 'Model 180 Series' AM clock radio.   The entire front of this radio is beautifully detailed reverse paint plastic!  This radio is in very good physical shape but the top could use a little polishing and the volume know is loose (small steel leaf spring is missing - the plastic is fine).  The clock runs, seemingly well,  The radio hums loudly but you can hear garbled stations under the hum.  The problem is simply a very common one.  It needs a new power supply filter capacitor.  This is a very pleasant radio that only needs minimal work to be in excellent shape. My 'lovely' photograph distorts this radio.   Indeed, it is flat and square and NOT bent or distorted as the phot would indicate.  My Fuji camera 'hates' anything long and shiny like this radio or a classic stereo receiver!
