This rural UK museum, named after the famous economist Milton Keynes, houses many museums including ones dedicated to antique telephones and telecommunications, printing, and transport. The museum is open Wednesday to Sunday (inclusive), 11.00am-4.30pm PLUS Bank Holiday Mondays in May and August, 11.00am-4.30pm. The Museum is located in Wolverton at the northern end of Milton Keynes (a city founded by Mr. Keynes in 1960!).

This is a very neat museum located in Christchurch New Zealand. Exhibits are housed in a vintage building altered to replicate a 1920’s small town Post Office. Exhibits are made up from a large supply of equipment & artifacts from the then NZ Post Office & later from Telecom Corp NZ. The manual telephone exchange is in working order as is also a sample of a Western Electric Rotary telephone exchange. The telegraph room has Morse apparatus & a sequence of teleprinters & teletypes, all working. There is a large collection of telephones from Graham Bells era to modern. Another display is the top part of a telephone pole with arms, insulators, wires & terminal box. Ferrymead Park is open 10am to 4:30pm with the Post Office open most days between 10.30 pm & 4 pm. Special arrangements can also be made for tours. A nice saampling of exhibits is available on their site for those of us half a world away from New Zealand!

Exhibits from 1876, starting with a model of Alexander Graham Bell’s first attempt at creating a communications device, to the modern phone that we all take for granted today.
