Fabulous BBC Narrow body EMT 950 Broadcast Turntab
Here for auction is one of the sought after full BBC specification narrow body EMT 950 turntables, far easier to accomodate than the wide body version. It is complete with the 929 arm, fitted with the TSD headshell and a Shure cartridge. See also my wide body EMT 950 listed if that is what you need. No reserve auction starting at 0.01 gbp. It is in truly excellent working order with smooth running and quiet bearings, All of the switches work and it is ready to rock and roll. Cosmetically speaking, the turntable itself is really very good with remarkably good paintwork, bearing in mind that it has been a working turntable. There is some wear on the paint on the outer housing. No lid however. XLR connections at the rear from a built in high quality phono preamp. Set for 240 Volt/ 50 Hz but this can be changed to work on any power worldwide. For more information, please contact me to : multi.shops@yahoo.com THANK YOU! |

Astatic 1937 B-10 10" Pickup (Tone Arm) - NIB!
Here is an Astatic B-10 'Tru-Tan Offset Head' crystal turntable 'pickup'. It is designed for 10" 78 RPM record use. The mounting template is dated 3-18-37. The hardware and 'Astatic Tone Equalizer' plastic knob and control indicator plate are included as are the wood screws to mount the tone arm and tone arm rest. No equalizer is included. Notably, the cartridge mounting plate is a side mounted affair that was probably designed to use a specific cartridge. A few parts of a microswitch (and a complete one) that someone probably tried to use to make a mount for a standard cartridge are included although I don't think that the ages old experiment was successful. The tone arm rest may be hand made or may just not have been fully finished as solder and sanding areas are showing at the top and bottom. It seems to be factory finished otherwise. The arm itself looks like new! In addition to the 'Mouinting Layout For B-10 Pickup' sheet, an 'Instructions for Installing Astatic Crystal Pickup' sheet (insect damaged), a schematic for 'Tone Equalizer for Crystal Pickups' (this may have been 'do it yourself'), and a hand drawn tube input schematic is also included. There is a 7 day right of return on this item. All shipping charges are your responsibility though. Insurance is strongly recommended. I can't be responsible in any way for uninsured items. Thanks for looking! |

Star-Fire 402 Transistor Reel Tape Recorder
This listing is for a Star-Fire model 402 'High Fidelity' transistor tape recorder. These units were popular in the 1960s or, at least a lot of them were sold! This particular unit is made of hard bakelite or, probably more correctly, Plaskon or a mimic material. There are no cracks, chips, or even notable scratches. It is in excellent physical shape and does operate to a degree. The motor runs and rewind sort of works. The play direction needs some prompting. There is some audio on the tape of the type that is mostly what was recorded on these things 'Testing, 1-2-3'! The audio, to be fair sounds surprisingly decent so this one might have a bias oscillator. Most didn't have this and were often very dull even in the voice spectrum. The battery box is clean and the metal battery cover is in nice shape. It would not be hard to make this recoder to function properly. Actual shipping costs are additional. Insurance is recommended. I cannot be held responsible for damage or non-delivery of uninsured items. I will help in any way that I can with insured items in the unlikely (but real) event that there should there be a problem. |
